Frances and Millie decide to see if they could make the number one hundred out of the number forms in the park. So, they located another "zero" and added it to the "one" and "zero" they had used to make ten.
Just as they were sitting on top of the one hundred, rain began falling with large drops. So, they quickly counted one hundred rain drops and spelled "one hundred" like this:

About the Book
Educational research has shown the significance of children learning to recognize numbers, their spelling, and simple arithmetic facts from early childhood and into the beginning years of formal education. Knowing that his grandchildren were involved in virtual education as early as the age of four, Dr. Bowman started writing and illustrating stories for this age group around the theme of mathematics. About the Author
Richard Bowman and his wife, Elsie, have four adult children and now ten grandchildren. He has enjoyed the many opportunities this has given him to read to kids as they grow up. As a retired teacher (professor of physics) and science demonstrator in several elementary schools, Dr. Bowman is enlivened by interacting with children as they learn science and mathematics. He also uses his storytelling and illustrating skills in his avocational role as a Christian minister.
