John 1:1-5 (NIV)
The Word Became Flesh
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it…
John 1:14 (NKJV)
14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth…
The WORD is Jesus Christ – HaDavar Elohim (The Word of God).
There is POWER in the WORD of God!
There is POWER in the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.
There is POWER in the Epistles of the Apostle Paul to the Church in Corinth, the faithful in Ephesus, all the Saints in Christ Jesus in Philippi, and to the Church in Colosse during that Biblical time period.
There is POWER in the First Book of Moses called Genesis, the Second Book of Moses called Exodus, and the Fifth Book of Moses called DEUTERONOMY.
There is POWER in the Book of Isaiah, the Book of Daniel, and in the REVELATION of Jesus Christ.
What I hope to do with this book is demonstrate to you, that there is also POWER in the Book of PSALMS!
Psalm 29:2-4 (NKJV)
2 Give unto the Lord the glory due to His name;
Worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.
3 The voice of the Lord is over the waters;
The God of glory thunders;
The Lord is over many waters.
4 The voice of the Lord is POWERFUL;
The voice of the Lord is FULL of MAJESTY.
What we have revealed here is the nature of Religious Worship. It is giving to the Lord the GLORY due to His Name. There is a beauty in holiness, and that puts beauty upon ALL acts of Worship. The Psalmist here sets forth God’s dominion in the Kingdom of nature. In the thunder, and in the lightning, and in the midst of the storm, we may see and hear His GLORY!
The God of glory THUNDERS! (v.3)
Let our hearts be thereby filled with great, and high, and honourable thoughts of Elohim, in the holy adoring of whom, the POWER of Godliness so much consists.
O Lord our God, thou art very GREAT!
Now to say the voice of the Lord is POWERFUL (Ps 29:4), is an understatement in my opinion. Are you saying that you disagree?
Are you saying that the same voice that said, “Let there be Light”, and there was Light (Gen 1:3), is not POWERFUL?
Are you saying that the same voice that said, “I AM WHO I AM” (Ex 3:14), and “The LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you. This is My name forever, and this is My memorial to all generations” (Ex 3:15), is not FULL of MAJESTY?
Are you trying to convince me, that the same voice that said “Lazarus, come forth!” (John 11:43), is not POWERFUL?
Do you want me to believe that the same voice that said “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid” (John 14:27), is not FULL of MAJESTY?
Am I hearing things, or are you really trying to make me believe that the same voice that said, “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End - who is, and who was, and who is to come, the ALMIGHTY!” (Rev 1:8), is not filled to the brim with POWER?
I didn’t think so. I was confident that we were on the same page, but I had to make sure, just for my own edification.
Psalm 2:8 (NKJV)
8 Ask of Me, and I will give You
The nations for Your INHERITANCE,
And the ends of the earth for Your possession.
Psalm 16:5-6 (NKJV)
5 O Lord, You are the portion of my INHERITANCE and my cup;
You maintain my lot.
6 The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places;
Yes, I have a good INHERITANCE.
Let’s talk about the concept of Spiritual Inheritance for a moment. Our Spiritual Inheritance is based strictly on our relationship to Christ. “For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus… And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise” (Gal 3:26, 29).
The present possession of the Spiritual Inheritance, as well as its future Glory is emphasized in Romans 8 – “16 The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, 17 and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together” (Rom 8:16-17). The Holy Spirit’s indwelling POWER is both the sign and seal that we are Heirs of God’s promise – “…having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, 14 who is the guarantee of our inheritance…” (Eph 1:13-14). “Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an Heir of God through Christ” (Gal 4:7). How does it feel to be an Heir of God through Christ?
