Introduction
Life is about journeys. Moving from one point in time to another. This is a story about my journey as a fetus, beginning inside my mother’s womb and ending on the day of my birth. The story is based on biblical passages that tell us about God’s plan for humanity.
I believe that God makes Himself known to every child as they are developing and growing inside their mother’s womb. I can picture Him talking to, comforting, nurturing, teaching, and keeping every precious little fetus company until his or her grand entrance into this world. I believe that God fills up the tiny child’s spirit with His presence so that every child is born with a connection to their Heavenly Father and Creator.
However you feel about the child in the womb—be it excited, thankful, scared, confused, or alone—this story may help you, as a mother, discover that the life growing inside you was not placed there by accident. That child is a gift. A gift worth keeping. And I dedicate this book to every single one.
“Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from Him” (Psalm 127:3*).

About the Book
A Gift Worth Keeping is a whimsical story from the point of view of the fetus inside the womb. The baby’s journey from conception to birth is highlighted through developmental milestones in conjunction with Biblical scriptures and conversations with her Creator throughout gestation.

Dori is passionate about children, mothers, families, and the importance of life. Her love for God and Biblical scripture inspired her to create a story about when life begins and why it’s so precious to the Creator.
Zybrena’s personal connection to this story drove the passion behind her illustrations. Her God-given desire is for her art to bring hope and healing to mothers across the globe.
