the Bread of Life?
Bible Study
1. Jesus spoke life into being. Why do His followers believe He can restore our bodies and minds from the ravages of the enemy? (John 1:1–17).
2. How insignificant we are as mere human beings, and yet we often expect God to be at our beck and call. Do our times of sitting at His feet exceed our times of crying out to Him to pull us out of the flames of persecution? (Revelation 19:13–16).
3. Christians are in the world, but not of the world. (John 17:15–21; Romans 12:2; 1 John 2:15–17). How should we respond to the wickedness we see in our world today? Historically, how has the church responded to the corruption of wickedness and the idolatry that dominates the world? (1 John 5:19–21).
4. Nothing is impossible for God! In Christ, each life has a specific purpose. Jesus knew His purpose and remained steadfast in fulfilling His Father’s will for His life (Matthew 1:18–25). Do you know the purpose for which God created you? Are you steadfast in determination to fulfill your heavenly Father’s will for your life? Specifically, how are you going about accomplishing His plan?
5. Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness. He fasted 40 days and nights and was hungry when the tempter came to him. How can we discipline our lives so that when the tempter comes to tempt us, we will not fall into the enemy’s temptations? (Matthew 4:1–11; Luke 21:34–38; James 4:7).
6. If Jesus’ body of believers were walking in faith and doing what He said we could do, we would not only share the good news of His kingdom, but also, we would lay hands on the sick and diseased and see them healed. The impact on the world would be life changing. How can believers impact the world during a health crisis? (Matthew 4:23–25; John 14:12).
