Truth:
God is true in all He is, says and does. He is consistent to His word and cannot, nor will He lie. (John 14:6; 17:17; Titus 1:2; and Hebrews 6:18)
(Titus 1:1-3) “Paul, a servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ to further the faith of God’s elect and their knowledge of the truth that leads to godliness— 2 in the hope of eternal life, which God, who does not lie, promised before the beginning of time, 3 and which now at his appointed season he has brought to light through the preaching entrusted to me by the command of God our Savior,” (NIV)
God’s truth is disclosed to us through our conscience and through the created order. It is also communicated through God’s revelation in His word.
Truth is a precious commodity in our world. Unfortunately, it is so rare that being a commodity, it is more like a precious jewel. God speak truth into the world. It has been captured by several people over the centuries and recorded. Because God is immutable His Truth never changes. Despite this, many people who cannot accept God’s truth have rebelled by questioning or demeaning God’s truth. Sadly, they do this to their own harm because the truth God has given us does not nor will it ever change.
We can count on God the Father, Christ the Son and the Holy Spirit to lead us by and into the truth, if we are open to their leading. Those that say to God that is your truth but my truth is xxx are bound to come to a fiery end. God’s truth has never been changed over the full history of man.
Why is this important? The truth of God will be demonstrated in all He says to humanity. Therefore, He will always ensure that His word is communicated correctly to all His people. (Mark 13:31; Luke 4:32; 2 Peter 1:12 and 2 Timothy 3:16-17) God’s expectations are clear in His word, which does not change over time. It is also revealed in the conscience of man, which is evident and consistent across cultural boundaries. Furthermore, He will use only the true facts in all His judgments. (Psalm 103:6; John 5:30; Romans 2:2; Revelation 2:2)
