There is Hope
Some people don’t know how to cope, I see them with their head hanging low.
Downcast and in despair, some listen to the suggestions of fear, and life just doesn’t flow.
Some are angry, and just don’t care,
Some just have a faraway stare.
Some go to the doctor, and he gives them a pill,
It makes coping easier for life's battles uphill.
Some have learned to set a new course,
Some have learned to go to life’s source.
Some check out early, they can’t keep pace.
They choose to leave life early and say goodbye to the human race.
Some, that’s just not the case,
They make a lot of money and have a nice place.
Some buy whatever they want,
Some show off and like to flaunt.
Some are poor and live a life without the pocket to go to the store.
Some have nowhere to sleep so they rest on the floor.
Some choose to drink, but that doesn’t make it better,
Some so lonely, don't even have someone for which to write to a letter.
Some come to know the One who does care,
Some discover the possibility to draw near.
Some trudge along with all of life's woes,
They carry life's burdens from their head to their toes.
Their faces do not shine, they are sad and depressed.
Some laugh it off, as if there was not a care.
Some smoke a little something to take a stab at some peace.
Some spiral down, and don’t see what’s real.
Some learn to live in their alternative reality of opinions they’ve formed, and think all is okay,
Without any regard of what God might say.
Some need to have their broken hearts heal,
If we go to the Source, He will not fail.
There is One that has overcome even death and to the brokenhearted He is so near.
Some choose to reject Him, and about God they don’t care.
Some choose religion or some spiritual force, all kinds of intellectual thoughts,
In pride, they refuse to be humble and bow to the One who’s the source.
The One who can cleanse you and get you free from sin,
The One who can heal and restore and give us peace within.
There’s a free gift, offered to all men, it is a gift of love,
sent from heaven above.
A gift you can’t earn with all religious zeal,
One for which you can’t beg, borrow or steal.
Some choose to have hope as an anchor for their soul,
Some choose to have a stocking full of coal.
I thank God for the One who gave His life for us all.
He paid the price for redemption from the fall.
We find life at the foot of the cross,
When one humbles themself and makes Jesus their Boss.
He’s the King of all kings, and Lord of lords,
He’s the Hope eternal when we cut life's cords.
So don’t come to me with your guns or your swords,
I can’t deny Him, my hope runs deep to the depths of my soul.
To know God more, is now my life goal,
Thankful for hope eternal in Jesus, the anchor of my soul.

About the Author
Tim grew up in a suburb of Boston, Massachusetts through the 60’s and 70’s. He grew up with many good times, and heartbreak of a broken family when he was 13 his parents divorced. He also experienced the confusion, and depression that comes from being molested at a young age. Tim abused drugs and alcohol in his teen years, which eventually left him empty, feeling spiritually dead. God rescued him on the verge of suicide May 25, 1980, when in desperation Tim knelt bedside and reasoned together with God. He experienced short term Christian mission trips, and travels to the Israel, Europe, India, Haiti, Central America and Mexico. Experienced some bad experiences in his late twenties and instead of going to God, he returned to his old ways of substance abuse. He knows what it is to be a lost prodigal son finding his way back to Father God. He learned to not disqualify himself from the love and grace of God. He overcame self condemnation, and has 22 years of sobriety. From his short term mission trips, to the halls of A.A. and Celebrate Recovery. From his many years of working in construction, meeting people from all walks of life, to graduating from Charis Bible College in Woodland Park, Colorado. Tim has a unique perspective on life, and finding peace with himself and with God, and has a grasp of the truth which can set people free. He knows God is able to restore a broken soul; Tim knows God and the love of God personally and that love shines through his life and his writings.
