2020, A Hard Year
“…Truly God is good…” (Psalm 73:1)!
A hard year2020! Trouble for millions, universal illness; wide-spread deaths: “My steps have well-nigh slipped” (Psalm 73:2). We witnessed- corona virus- ravage our nation and the entire world. It is within God’s permissive will, we believe, that He has allowed the Pandemic to speak to all His creation. The principles and teachings of our fun-damental faith led us to this conclusion. But the same faith answers in God’s grace and mercy toward us:
God’s redemptive answer!
“If my people…shall humble themselves; and pray; and seek my face,
And turn from their wicked ways, them will I hear from heaven
and will forgive their sin and will heal their land” (2 Chronicles 7:14).
Yet so many scoff at God’s voice and turn a deaf ear toward our Father’s perfect solution. Let us learn, if we follow the world’s wealth; search for purpose and fulfilment in the changing economies of society, and gage success by money, we will fail! Remember we consist of two parts; a dichotomy; body (mortal) and soul (immortal). Mostly we feed our bodies and starve our souls! Beloved, we must all die—what then?
Know, when the corona virus relents, worse will follow in this world. “For all-the-day long have I been plagued and chastened every morning” (Psalm 73:14). The Word of God has spoken. We have the answer before us. “…they that are far from thee shall perish…But it is good for me to draw near to God” (Psalm 73:27-28). Dear friend, let us pray… and every soul declare “… I have put my trust in the Lord God…Psalm 73:28).
“Truly, God is good (Psalm 73: 1).
God bless you!
A Better Testament
“Wherefore He is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by Him,
seeing that he ever lives to make intercession for them” (Hebrews 7:25).
This has been our prayer for many days --that God would grant, in Jesus’ name--relenting grace, concerning this worldwide "plague of Corona Virus!" We know that you Lord, are in control of all things. That you determine or permit whatever occurs among your creation. We know that you created man with self-determination. And we are persuaded that all, including your people, have decided to turn to our own ways and grossly sin in your sight.
Because of our flagrant iniquity, we believe you have spoken to us in a manner that has affected every human on the earth. Millions have died; millions are suffering, and the economies of the world are devastated. The bright-est, most able, most educated are searching for the answer; all are failing! But at last, many are looking up to you; realizing that you have permitted this terrible sickness to invade the world because of our great sinfulness!
Father, we confess! We have sinned! Spiritually, physically, mentally, and emotionally we have sinned! We have taken the perfect world which you created and turned it into chaos. Even our beautiful country, the land of the free and the home of the brave, is in constant conflict all because of sin! We repent and name our unrighteous acts one by one. We pray for your mercy, love, and forgiveness. We believe: "Draw near to God and He will draw near to you…" (James 4:8).
We thank you Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, that you give us hope. We believe prayer heals. We believe, "The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much” (James 5:16). And we testify again that,
“By so much was Jesus made a surety of a better Testament” (Hebrews 7:22).
God bless you!
A Christmas Prayer
“In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God”
(John 1:1).
Jesus Christ the “Divinely anointed of God!” “Son of God!” "Co-equal with God” (John 1:1-14)!
You are the giver of eternal life, (John 17:2), Savior of believers (Ephesians 2:8-10), Creator and Judge of all life here and hereafter (Isaiah 40:28), and rewarder of every believing soul (Acts 13:39); we come with bended knee, and joyful hearts to celebrate your incarnation-Christmas!
This time of sacredness is set apart from all other days, to celebrate the fullness of time when You graced the earth to show us the way of salvation. We lift our hands, our souls, and our prayers to thank You: for giving Your life so that whosoever will believe in You may live in eternity.
We pray that Your kingdom will come, and Your will shall be done on earth as it is in heaven. We pray for the time when “…peace on earth, good will to men” (Luke 2:14), will be the first wish and act of every human. We pray that the Holy Spirit will enter the hearts of all leaders of all lands and wars and strife will cease.
We pray for forgiveness for ourselves, our families, our nation of America, and every lost soul. Lord, we rejoice where You have said, … “Surely I come quickly,” and in Jesus’ name we repeat
“—Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus” (Revelation 22:20)
God bless you!
