Faith

Storms come up in our lives: many of them quite unexpectedly. Some of life's storms hit you so fast that you never saw them coming. If you knew it was coming, if you just had a little warning, if somebody had told you that next. Wednesday a hurricane would hit your life, maybe you could be prepared. If you only knew this would happen, you could start praying in that direction and have faith geared up to meet the tempest. Unfortunately, nobody tells you when a storm will hit you.

Nobody announces that gale force winds are coming up in your life. We don't have existential weathermen and women who each night gives us a temporal forecast of the events of tomorrow. There is no Doppler radar to even inform you that a cold front is coming through your house this morning. No one tells you to expect high winds to knock you down at work; or to stay inside today because the people you thought were your friends are just like a sheet of treacherous ice waiting for you. God did not give us a Meteorologist, but He did give us a long-range forecast. He said, "In this world you will have tribulation but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world” [John 16:33 KJV]. We are also told in 1 John 5:4 “This is the Victory that overcomes the world: even our Faith."

When the ears and mind have taken the vocabularic form of God's eternal protoplasm [i.e., The Word of God], then when it enters the soul [i.e. the mind], it breaks down and the nuggets of eternal truth then go throughout the spirit and feed it everlasting life and eternal communion with God Himself. The more of it we digest and allow to become a part of us, eventually the more we will begin to look like the One who sent the Word. The Word of God contains the life of Jesus Himself. The more we take in, the more we begin to look like Jesus, .

The more we see Jesus, the more He empowers us to be like Jesus. Yet it all begins with the Word of God. The more of it we take and live by, the more we become like it. We become living embodiments of God 's Word, God's power, and God's truth. This is God's preeminent goal for us: to become more like His Son. This is why I love the cry of our fore parents who said: Bread of Heaven, Bread of Heaven; Feed Me till I want No more!

Faith also acts as the eyes God has given mankind to investigate the realm of God, investigate the world of God, look into the things of God, and to even look at God Himself. When your spirit and your will are prompted by the urgings of the Holy Spirit, and when in response to that prompting, we open ourselves to the Word of God, then our spirits bond with that abstract bridge between cognition (mental ability) and spiritual reality? Through the spirit of Faith, we see God, we see what God sees and we think like God thinks. We move within the new realm of consciousness known as the mind of Christ, and we move out of the mind that was conformed to the limitations and confines of this world.

Our horizons have expanded beyond the possibilities and impossibilities of this world. We have been transformed even though we are still in this world. We can now truly walk with God; but the world cannot see nor understand our new nature. Remember that Jesus said the following about: the difference we will encounter between those who have been filled with God's Spirit and those who have not. Those who have not been filled with His Spirit will not see the things that we can see. ..

Faith is the Spirit of God interacting with our spirits to produce God's will in the earth. But it is an unseen Faith. It is manifested in our behavior, but it cannot in and of itself be seen. It is based on spiritual things, and it reveals an unseen reality about an unseen God. Understand, then, that when you come to church, and everyone knows that you're dealing with a bad situation, or people know that your physical body is racked with pain, only the saints can understand why you're still up clapping your hands. Only the saints can understand why you are still lifting Holy hands to the Lord. Only the Holy Ghost-filled saints can understand why you can keep on smiling, keep on singing, keep on rejoicing, and keep on praying. The saints can understand what's happening because they have the same bridge that you have. The saints know something about being empowered by what God shows you and what God tells you. It can make you run on when you feel too weak to run. It can make you stand up when all you've been doing is falling. Help me Jesus! It can make you look up and raise that bowed down head. Faith will empower you to stand strong. Faith will empower you to wait on God. Faith will give you power. Can I get a witness?!

When you walk up in church, the non-sanctified may not understand why you strut with your head held high. You know you've been saved. You know you've been redeemed. You know you'll be delivered. But you know you're God's Child. Because any time the devil tries to tell you otherwise, Faith speaks to you. When Faith speaks to you, something happens.
