About the Book
As I tell our story, I take you with me inside a culture and lifestyle that is foreign to many people. The Swartzentruber Amish are one of the most conservative people groups you will find in America. Change was considered Worldly. We had no electricity or modern conveniences. We drove horses and buggies and dressed like they did in the 1800’s. What is inside the group is kept very confidential. Anyone that leaves is shunned and if you were a member you will be excommunicated unless you leave in a church split. Fear, control and superstition are used to keep people too afraid to leave. Walk with me through this book as we find our way through the maze of religious practices, heartache, love, and finally true salvation through Jesus Christ. Then eventually we were able to break through these religious barriers, and learned to live in a different culture— embracing biblical Christianity.
