Chapter 1 - The creator created creation to create
"In the beginning, God created the heavens and earth," as Genesis 1:1 (NIV) states.
I don't know if you believe in the Bible, as I do, but I have found some answers there, which will be a good starting point for us. Science and spirituality have supported each other in the past ten years, unlike any other time in history.
Science keeps pointing to God as the Creator of all creation. Some call God "energy," "the universe," "the light," or just "God." This brings me to the following questions: Was the beginning in his mind? Did he see it before he spoke it?
Let's see what the Bible says and what science confirms. And where they meet, they both tell us that our most powerful tool is to be God-like.
Please stop for a second and grasp how powerful that is. Nothing happens just on its own. We must first design it in our imagination. - That is where it all begins.
"Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see. Through their faith, the people in the days of old earned a good reputation. By faith, we understand that the entire universe was formed at God's command, that what we now see did not come from anything that can be seen." (Hebrews 11:1-3 NLT)
We read here that faith is believing in the substance of things hoped for and refers to what you desire. It is what you design in your mind but cannot see (yet) physically. It is still in the landscape of your mind from where everything is created. When this is not in order, hopelessness comes, and with it comes a sense of an unmet expectation. In other words, God designed in his mind what HE wanted to see in the physical world.
Picture your mind as a canvas painted with your thoughts. We can be the artists of what appears on our canvases, but we often hand the paintbrush to others. When we give others the paintbrush, they design our future landscape. What this implies is that we don't always control our destiny. Whoever we allow to hold the paintbrush of our minds has that power! We must constantly ask ourselves, "Who holds my paintbrush? Am I painting my future, or is someone else painting negativity on my canvas?" And what is this canvas? - It is our mind, and we paint with the power of our imagination, which connects to our spirit.
Our creativity starts before we physically see it. The Bible continues to say that God spoke and designed the visible with his words: "By faith, we understand that the universe was created by the word of God so that what is seen was not made from things that are visible" (Hebrews 11:3 ESV).
God created what he had in his imagination and put it into words. He spoke out his design. Therefore, the most powerful thing God created is the mind. It is the ability to create with our imagination, just like him. Consciousness is the ability to create, and it is our greatest asset. Ideas start as invisible thoughts which become visible and manifest over time.
In Genesis 11:5-6 (KJV), the people gathered to create a tower to reach heaven. The Lord was so amazed by this creation that he had to come down to see what his creation had done. This story speaks about creation by applying principles established by God in the beginning by faith. In verse 6, the Lord said: Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined doing. He realized that the people figured out how to use the unique imagination he deposited in all of them from the start of creation.
The keyword in this passage is imagined. God saw people's ability to create in their minds and bring forth whatever they fill their minds with. In other words, the blueprint of what they wanted to create was in their imagination.
He decided nothing would be restrained from them, meaning what they see in their imagination would be seen in the physical, which many call to "manifest" something.
Science has reaffirmed this through recent studies. They had a subject think about something while viewing the inside of the subject's brain with a CAT scan. They concluded that invisible thoughts become visible in the brain as the thoughts are being created. The ideas took up "mental real estate" in the subject's brain. This is called a synaptic connection. In other words, through neuro-pathways, we create a new reality. One can easily see why the ancient king of Israel, Solomon, said, "As a man thinks, so is He " (Proverbs 23:7 KJV).
