In my book, “Poems for My Abba,” I focused on poems and praise for our Abba, our Heavenly Father, to honor Him; His Son, Jesus; and the Holy Spirit-the entire Trinity. This book also contains poems and praise; however, I chose to focus on the Bible, the Words of my Abba, our Abba, the inspired Words of God. My continued hopes are, especially for those who have never known Him and for those who have fallen away from Him, is that something in here will strike a chord of emotion, a spark of desire to read His Words and know Him or return to Him, God, our Abba. I also hope and pray especially for the children of Abraham, God's beloved chosen people. That someday His twelve tribes will return to Him, their Abba, and accept His Son Jesus Christ, as their Holy King and Savior.
Saving
Sinning from the beginning.
The mystique of his allure.
First deceiving the garden couple.
Proving that no man is pure.
Then law spilled out from Moses.
Demanding complete obedience.
Yet no one could be saved.
Through simple laws of expedience.
The slaves of Pharaoh no longer free.
Instead nailed to the law of the tree.
For no one could obey them all.
The laws were constant, many and great.
Despite all the temple sacrifices.
God's eternal wrath was their fate.
Yet He so loved the world.
Beyond all understanding.
Knowing the price was demanding.
That He alone through His Son.
The only way to get this done.
His beloved and only begotten.
Nailed to that tree and forgotten.
Left agonized and forsaken.
Yet only He could have taken.
The sins of the world and freed us all!
Saving from the beginning.
The mystique of His allure.
Our loving Father has saved us.
With His Son, a love so pure!
Daily Bread
Dear Lord, every day, you give me my daily bread.
The roof over my head, the clothes on my back.
Always strengthening me against his daily attacks.
Surrounding me with your shield and armor.
Protecting me like a ship in safe harbor.
Your Son's body and blood, food for my soul.
Empowering me with blessed self-control.
Lifting me to withstand temptation and win,
the battle and conquest over Satan and sin!
Eleventh
Dear God, Dear Lord, please spare your sword.
Of wrath to those who don't know your path.
Some my family, friends, destined for horrific ends.
Who don't believe, know, or even perceive.
In you, and your Son's torturous crucifixion.
Blind to your love, salvation, and benediction.
Dear God, Sweet Jesus, this I boldly pray.
That you send your divine love to light their way.
Please send your helper the Holy Spirit.
Please your voice, let them live to hear it.
Like the thief on the cross at the eleventh hour.
They're not lost but saved by your almighty power!
For them I pray over again, again and again.
Sweet Jesus save our loved ones, amen and amen!
