They use an ambulance to pick you up. And a stretcher. The whole deal. This lent to the torment of this impossible situation. It really was happening. They wheeled the stretcher onto our sidewalk almost up to the front door and helped him onto it. There he was, lying there in one of his favorite t-shirts and shorts and his everyday sneakers – the ones we had gotten him from Kohl's because his old ones were wearing out. They were his trademark shoes. He bought the same brand, same size every time. I watched them wheel him to the ambulance and hoist him up into it. Then, they closed the back doors and I couldn't see his shoes anymore. As the ambulance drove away I put my head on Bev's shoulder and bawled.
They took my love away to die.

In this book, Wendy shares the story of finally meeting the love of her life, only to unexpectedly learn five months after marrying him that he has terminal cancer. Their world was rocked and her dream was wrecked. Both excited to be starting over in their 40s, they realize quickly that their life together will be cut dramatically short.
But there is still beauty to be found in impossible situations. There is still God, and He is still good. Despite bitter anger towards Him, Wendy begins seeing blessing after blessing and clings to the peace and joy that only He can give.
Wendy shares the real, raw feelings she experienced during this traumatic time and ultimately helps readers recognize that God is still good, and He truly is with you every step of the way. He wants to love you, heal you, and give you immeasurable hope.
About the Author
Wendy has passionately loved writing her whole life, and wanted to write a book since she was a teenager. She’s grateful that the trial that God allowed in her life at age 46 inspired her to write a book that would bring comfort and hope to its readers.
Wendy lives in Little Chute, Wisconsin with her two cats. She is a baker at a local café and enjoys quality time with her daughter, getting together with her family, spending time with friends, making people laugh, reading, crochet, and walking. That first sip of strong morning coffee is her favorite simple pleasure.
This is her first book and she is praying that more will follow.
