INTRODUCTION
“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” Matthew 6.33 ~KJV
Sometimes we are stumped about the right thing to do, the right action to undertake. Instead of wondering, seek God first, and He will make your pathway straight. Occasionally, we think we have it all figured out, and we develop the idea that we can do it on our own; but in reality, we cannot. In my early years, I left the church in general and, in a way, left Him, the Most High.
However, I slowly realized that He had never left me through it all. His Word says, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you” (Deuteronomy 31:6~ NIV).
As a young girl, powerless and helpless in church, I was forced to conform to man's rules and not God's rules. I attended church often weekly, but my relationship with God was strained. I knew I had a purpose in my life, and this curiosity for the things of God changed my life. I came to the understanding of God's Love; TRUE LOVE. One which is given to us unconditionally. There is nobody else who can provide you with that type of love. Seek Him!

Never give up and always listen to God. Also, do not put your trust in everyone because not everyone has your best interests at heart.
Set healthy boundaries. Stand firm in your beliefs and do not waiver in your faith.
About the Author
The author, G.E. Jhourni, was born and raised in eastern North Carolina. She grew up in a Pentecostal Holiness church. G.E. also attended college in eastern North Carolina. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and started her teaching career as a second-grade teacher in Edgecombe County, NC in 1995. Then the following year, G.E. started teaching in her hometown. During this time, she had and raised her four children, married and divorced. In 2008, she returned to graduate school to get her Master’s Degree in Education. She has been teaching for 27 years.
