LUKE 11:21-26
If we are relying on ourselves we are never truly secure. There will always be another stronger, and we can be overpowered, losing all. Even our own armor, our chosen tools of defense, cannot save us nor protect us and all we possess, at all times. Only by submission to GOD and His supreme rule and authority can we dwell in safety and blessed assurance. Psalm 91:1“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty [Whose power no foe can withstand].”
It is the same when we have received cleansing and deliverance from afflictions, but then revert back to our old previous nature, degenerate or simply apathetic, forgetting and omitting the LORD Jesus from our midst. We dare not place Him conveniently on a shelf and attempt in our arrogance and foolishness to grab hold of Him only when we feel need, want, or threatened. He must stay in the forefront and center of our focus!
When the home of our souls are swept clean but not filled with Him we put out a fresh welcome mat for the enemy to return and demonically celebrate in our hearts, our minds, our bodies, and our lives. Do not allow these spirits a homecoming party, but rather fill every corner with Jesus Christ and the HOLY SPIRIT; praising, worshiping, studying His Word and living as one whose flesh has been crucified, with gratitude. Galatians 2:20“I have been crucified with Christ [in Him I have shared His crucifixion]; it is no longer I who live, but Christ (the Messiah) lives in me; and the life I now live in the body I live by faith in (by adherence to and reliance on and complete trust in) the Son of God, Who loved me and gave Himself up for me.”This is the person who sides with the LORD. This is one who puts into practice, who lives, the Word of GOD; gathering with Him instead of scattering.
We cannot perpetually be the strongman. We must not permit the enemy to be the strongman. Rather, let us grasp hold of GOD Almighty, submitting to His supreme strength and rule, Whose power no foe can withstand!
Luke 18:8 a closer look
Read verse 8; now read it again. The Amplified Bible Classic words the last portion of this scripture this way – “will He find persistence in faith on the earth?”. This question posed by Jesus should cause our hearts to weep.
Our GOD defends us with might and power that no foe can withstand! He hears our faintest and innermost cry. He knows our needs before we even speak of them, and He provides every single one. We gaze in wonder and awe at the beautiful works of His hands all around us; His creation where He has placed us, and given us. We smile, and He sees. We cry, and He hears. He gives us gifts because He is good and He loves us. And He has given us the ultimate gift, His own Son, Who endured torture and death, shedding every drop of His blood so that we do not need to pay the penalty we deserve for our betrayal.
Yet, our LORD wonders, and rightfully so, will He find faith, persistent faith, true faith, when He returns to earth. This is why it is vital we share His Word, tell of His grace, help teach of His promises, urge and encourage others who are seeking; we need gather together, and faithfully love and trust Him. We must live a life of testimony, helped by His HOLY SPIRIT Who dwells within us, and provide assistance through Him every way He instructs; ever ready to be His useful and willing vessels. We must bear one another’s burdens and hold each other up, being willing to be held accountable to our profession of faith while we love the LORD with all our heart, mind and soul; loving our neighbor as ourselves. All this may seem overwhelming or too much to bear, but He does not ask or require us to do these things in our own strength or on our own for He is ever with us, and we can do all things through Christ Who strengthens us (Philippians 4:13). Dear LORD, through Christ Jesus and the power of Your HOLY SPIRIT within us, help us to be faithful in having persistent faith.
Dear Reader, if you have stepped back from Him; become entangled in the cares of this world and the busyness of life; if you have slipped away in doubt, confusion, hurt, or circumstance; I invite you right now – come back. It is not too late; you are not too dirty. Your name is engraved on the palms of His hands regardless of what you have or have not done. Speak to Him – My Dear LORD, please forgive me. I repent of my falling away and the sins that have so easily entrapped me. Please receive me anew as Your child for I believe You, and that You’ve been waiting for me. I ask You enter all of me; taking control and helping me LORD. Thank You, in My Savior Jesus' name, amen.
John 6:37 "All whom My Father gives (entrusts) to Me will come to Me; and the one who comes to Me I will most certainly not cast out [I will never, no never, reject one of them who comes to Me].”
