Going Forward Obedient To the Master’s Call Book 2

Journey of a Lifetime It was Thursday, November 12, 2009, and I was at work at Gadsden Regional Medical Center. I was a scrub nurse, and it was a busy day. We had two surgeries that morning. When I finished the second surgery, I got a call from Pastor Derrick, the director of Decatur’s Master’s Commission program. It was about 12:30, and he asked me if I had heard about Phillip’s team in Denver. I told him no and asked what was happening. He told me a wreck had occurred, that one person had been killed, and several people had been airlifted to the hospital. How suddenly a phone call can change your life. I called New Life in Denver and was told to hold on. A police officer picked up the phone and told me Phillip had been seriously hurt and was in St. Alphonsus Hospital in Boise, Idaho. I called the hospital and talked with the intensive care nurse in the trauma area who updated me on Phillip’s condition. I was told he was very critical. My coworkers were listening and questioned me about what happened. I explained what I had been told. Within forty-five minutes, those coworkers had rallied, booked me a round-trip ticket to Boise, Idaho, paid for a hotel room next to the hospital for three nights, and given me $650 for expenses. I was amazed at what love and support they showed. I left the hospital and went home to pack and then leave. God moved in so many people. My pastor at Cathedral of Praise called, and they gave me a donation to help with the trip and expenses. Jehovah-Jireh is a present help in times of trouble. Look at what a God we serve. He knows what we need and when we need it. Thank God!
