"My biggest fear is that it will come back again," I heard her say these words, and I am not far enough along in this process to realize that thought on my own. I have never thought of this coming back. But sitting here listening to you and understanding how you have arrived honestly at this concern, I now share your biggest fear. She could no longer take part in the same activities as she had before the cancer, so she was now left out. After a few times of having to say she could not be there, they stopped asking. I wish I could speak to those friends and tell them that now more than ever, they should circle her, discover some new plans she could be a part of, and, at least for now, keep her in the middle. Hold tight to her because she is scared; loneliness would be the worst thing and one more thing she cannot bear, especially right now.
