It seems fitting that I would start writing this story today, because it was four years ago this week that I received a very special e-mail from a very special person. I was 28 years old. Here’s what it said:
February 24, 2007
Hello Heather,
I am emailing you as someone you may or may not remember. I saw you at Oglebay [a Young Life leader weekend] and then your name came up in a conversation with Bob McGinnis. He told me a little about you and then I asked him for a contact.
As for me, I live in Ohio just west of Wheeling. I’ve been involved in Young Life for a long time. I came to Christ through this ministry. Anyway, I would like to call you or get together sometime... maybe take in a movie. I’m guessing you may be at Rockbridge this weekend. I’ll be praying for you.

I could write that this one e-mail changed my life forever, but it’s more than that. My life has been changed forever, and it started much earlier than 2007. I hope you’ll read on to know a true-life love story involving three main characters. It started with One.
