A Biblical worldview centers on the belief that God’s divine plan is revealed through the Bible. Those who embrace a Biblical worldview align their lives with God’s commands and make choices that are consistent with the instructions that are in God’s Word.
In a world that often promotes the wisdom of man over the wisdom of God, a Biblical worldview challenges us to seek truth from the Scriptures, to test every belief and ideology against the Word of God, and to align our lives with what is pleasing to Him. It reminds us that we are citizens of a heavenly kingdom, called to be salt and light in a world that desperately needs the transformative power of the Gospel.
FOLLOW ME
Jesus perfectly modeled living according to the Biblical worldview. When Jesus walked on the earth, He invited His disciples to walk with Him. He said to them, “Follow Me.” Then Jesus called the crowd to Him, along with His disciples, and He said, “If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow Me.” Mark 8:34 When Jesus called His disciples, they dropped everything and followed Him. They couldn’t possibly understand who He was, but there was something about Him that they could not resist. It would take time for the disciples to learn that Jesus was not just another teacher or holy man, but rather the long-awaited Messiah! He was the One sent into the world to save them—and us—from sin.
COUNT THE COST
Jesus never softened the truth about what it meant to follow Him. He made it clear that His followers might be persecuted for the sake of righteousness. Jesus said that people will hate His followers because of their commitment to Him. The truth is, to follow Jesus requires you to make difficult choices regarding your priorities. To be a true disciple you must prioritize God’s Kingdom values over your love for and devotion to anyone or anything else. This does not mean that you disregard others; rather, you make your love for God your first priority.
“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the great and foremost commandment.” Matthew 22:37-38
Our faith in Jesus must be extraordinarily strong so that we will not turn away when times of persecution inevitably come. It is undeniable that we are facing incredibly challenging times. Without question, we are in the last days. As believers, we must be wise as serpents and innocent as doves as we discern the difference between what is good and what is evil. Regardless of when Christ returns, each of us is responsible to God to learn and live by Biblical principles, demonstrating the character of Jesus and making the truth of God known to others.
In our nation, the adversaries of God have gained considerable influence in our land and are posing a serious threat by attempting to strip away our fundamental rights as humans and suppress the voice of the Church. They employ methods such as cancel culture, political correctness, and various forms of intimidation to achieve their objective. We cannot passively observe while the foundations are being destroyed. Instead, we need to be fully prepared to boldly assert the truth found in the Scriptures to counter the deceptive falsehoods presented by those who are blinded by the enemy.
“If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?” Psalm 11:3
“In whose case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.” 2 Corinthians 4:4
It is crucial for us to acquire an understanding of the Bible’s teaching concerning Creation and God’s original intentions for humanity, marriage, and societal structure. Are you aware that the Truth reproaches and corrects those who are in error? This statement may upset individuals who are not seeking the truth, we currently see opposition acting out in society today.
Jesus faced hatred because He fearlessly proclaimed the Truth. We should anticipate nothing less when confronting the adversary. God is in control of the battle and has called upon all believers to join Him in the fight to protect the foundations of truth and to turn people back to God.
“For behold, darkness will cover the earth and deep darkness the peoples; but the LORD will rise upon you and His glory will appear upon you.” Isaiah 60:2
“But sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence.” 1 Peter 3:15
“Those from among you will rebuild the ancient ruins; you will raise up the ageold foundations; and you will be called the repairer of the breach, the restorer of the streets in which to dwell.” Isaiah 58:12
We need to wholeheartedly pray for a genuine revival and spiritual awakening, remaining steadfast in America’s Christian roots as we promote the Christian faith with stronger conviction. It’s simply time for the members of the Christian community to wholeheartedly proclaim God’s Truth to our culture.
Where do we begin?
We begin by applying God’s Word in our own lives with a commitment to live daily in the light of Biblical truth. Only as we dispel the darkness in our thinking will we become a light to others.
