Prayer the Supreme Weapon is a prayer guide for Christian women. In this book, women will find a space to center their struggles, pains, heartaches, and those lingering impacts, because of the enumerable ways women have been devalued historically. Our ability, however, to have meaningful conversations with God can lead us to liberation, freedom, and empowerment, all through the power of prayer. Prayer, without question, is a weapon. It has the capacity to come against the strongholds that keep us bound. As women, we are fighting a war that comes against our personage, our homes, our families, our children, our businesses, the list is long. Therefore, we must operate with great intentionality in being armed for the battle. Prayer the Supreme Weapon offers such armor and all the answers needed to not only begin the process of prayer, but insight into how effective prayer has manifested in the lives of other women. This book introduces the different types of prayers and when they are needed. In addition, it shares specific experiences of prayer requests and results. Prayer the Supreme Weapon encourages a closer relationship with God and after reading this book, any reader will feel inspired and readied to develop, advance, and amplify their prayer life.
About the Author
Lurene Bernice Fisher Emanuel was born in Mobile, Alabama, on June 4, 1944, to Mr. & Mrs. David Samuel & Annie Louise Fisher. From the age of four, she lived with her maternal Grandfather, the Rev. Benjamin Franklin Dudley, and his wife, Ariel Smith Dudley, where she was raised in a Christian home. As Rev. & Mrs. Dudley were both Christian educators, and Mrs. Dudley a public-school teacher, Lurene’s home life was profoundly shaped to value education and deeply influenced by her faith. Lurene attended Foley Elementary, Ella Grant Middle, and Mattie T. Blount High schools. She acquired her undergraduate degree from Alabama State University in music and French and her graduate degree from the University of South Alabama in Reading and K-12. As a professional educator, she taught in Tuscumbia, Alabama for one year, Bay Minette, Alabama for thirteen years, and Daphne, Alabama for thirteen years. A lifelong lover of music, she founded the Learning for Excellence School of Methods, where she taught voice, piano, and provided private tutoring for reading. Along with her love of music, she is a writer and Christian counselor who has helped and influenced countless youth and young women. A devout woman of faith, she maintains a strong prayer life and believes that love should be the foundation of our faith, and the preeminent rubric for success in life. Lurene is married to the Rev. Robert J. Emanuel, Jr., where she has served alongside him in ministry for over forty years, as a Pastor’s wife. Since 1966, their union has produced four children, Lenice, Jerome, Benjamin, and Letariel. Together, she and her husband reside in Prichard, Alabama.
