The mystery which was hidden from ages and generations but revealed to the saints through the preaching and teaching of Paul, is “Christ in you the hope of glory”. In this revealed mystery are the riches of God’s glory, known and given to the New Testament saints. In this mystery, lies the life of the new creation in Christ Jesus.
I now rejoice in my sufferings for you and fill up in my flesh what is lacking in the afflictions of Christ, for the sake of His body, which is the church, of which I became a minister according to the stewardship from God, which was given to me for you, to fulfill the word of God, the mystery which has been hidden from ages and from generations, but now has been revealed to His saints. To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. Him we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus. To this end I also labor, striving according to His working which works in me mightily.
Colossians 1:24-29 NKJV The revelation of the mystery of Christ dwelling in human bodies by his Spirit, that is, the Spirit of eternal life in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:2, 1 John 5:11-13) becoming the spirit man of the born again in Christ, was given to Paul by the Lord Jesus himself (Gal. 1:11-12). He understood by revelation from Jesus that, the spirit man of sin and death he was before he met Jesus, was no more and has now been replaced with the Spirit of eternal life in Christ. The Spirit of life in Christ has now become his born-again spirit man who dwells in his body. That is why he said:
I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless, I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. (Galatians 2:20 KJV).
Therefore, his mission was to get Christ to dwell in every human body by all means (1Corinthians 9:19-23) and those who have Christ in them to live as His matured ambassadors,
who will in turn reconcile people to the living God (2 Corinthians 5:20). For this same cause, he considered himself a debtor to the Greeks and the barbarians, the wise and the unwise. He saw himself as owing them the gospel of the Lord Jesus (Romans 1:14-15).
The truth of Christ dwelling in believers is not just a biblical theoretical and symbolic statement. Rather, it is a spiritual and literal indwelling of the Spirit of eternal life in Christ in human bodies, through the process of a spiritual rebirth or recreation of the spirit of the believer in Christ, into the very image of Christ Jesus, by the Holy Spirit of God. Speaking in human terms, Christ reproduces Himself or his Spirit or life or eternal life in the body of the Christian. By this, we can say that Christ is still walking on the surface of the earth today in the bodies of those who have believed in His name and received him, thereby prolonging His days on earth as it were. The prophecy of Isaiah is then fulfilled.
Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise Him; He has put Him to grief. When You make His soul an offering for sin, He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days, And the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in His hand.
Isaiah 53:10 NKJV
This is such a spiritual reality that when people see those who are believers in Christ, they have seen Christ in a different body. For instance, they will see Christ in the body of a born again African, Asian, North American, South American, European, and Australian walking on the face of the earth again and doing the works he did, even greater works (John 14:12). What happens is that the Spirit of eternal life in Christ, which is the Spirit nature of Christ himself since Christ is eternal life, takes over the soul or personality of the believer in Christ.
This fulfills the truth that God foreknew us and predestined us to be conformed to the image of His Son, so that Christ Jesus would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters (Romans 8:29). The believer in Christ is therefore the Spirit of eternal life in Christ Jesus in human flesh and has also become the the Word made flesh, for the believer is born again by the incorruptible seed of the word of God (1Peter 1:23). By the Holy Spirit of the Father, the Spirit of life in Christ, dwelling in the body of the believer will be healing the sick, raising the dead, cleansing the leper, casting out devils, and helping those in need (Matthew 10:8; 14:13-21). Christ will continue to do His work through our bodies so that we are the bodies of Christ Jesus and not just figuratively. This is the time for the sons and daughters of God to manifest their eternal life to radiate the glory of the Father for the world to see and reclaim the earth that Adam handed over to Satan through disobedience to God.
The saints just like Christ are anointed with the Holy Ghost and with power, to go about doing good, influencing and impacting lives, being a blessing to the world around them and delivering people from hell, and satanic oppression (Acts 10:38). This is the era of the manifestation of the sons of God in power, in soul winning, wealth, sound health, righteousness, and the demonstration of the supernatural.
