If you are a person who has struggled with the emotion of anger, Victory over Anger is a must read for you. It is a book that clearly explains how dangerous anger can be. Yes, over the years of humanity, countless crimes have been committed as a result of uncontrolled anger.
James Dean Anderson was living a life of addiction, not to drugs or alcohol, but a compulsive behavior addiction of anger. As he quotes in his book, “The grudge I held towards my father made my problems with anger much worse. I was committing “road rage” incidents before road rage was even used as a term. And I committed acts of vengeance that were no doubt crimes, such as damaging people's property, as well as their vehicles, and physically hurting people. And a common theme emerged, problems with coworkers. I could not live at peace in society, for I had a compulsive behavior addiction of uncontrolled anger.” (Chapter Five)
James' loving mother Ruth could see he was going down a long dark road. But he ignored her warnings and chose a life of accepting negative influence. For he clearly states, “The choice I made to idolize the John Rambo character was a terrible decision. My behavior was already very negative. The Rambo influence took my mind from a bad state to worse. And over time, my behavior went from dangerous to deadly. Indeed, the writing on the wall of my back was clear, for it read, Bound for State Prison. I did not know the writing was there, but my mother did, as she continued to plead with me to give my life to the Lord.” (Chapter Six) Tragically, James committed an unjustifiable homicide. And he was sentenced to Life in prison. Thankfully, James accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. And through God's salvation, James was granted, Victory over Anger. Yes, he had to endure over thirtyfour years of incarceration because of his bad decisions, but through it all God kept him safe and sound. And on February 13th, 2024, James Dean Anderson 138154, was released on parole to live life successfully on parole. Victory over Anger is clearly a story of inspiration. Amen
