Nigel Waterman’s From Grass to Grace, the Life and times of Pastor Fitz Albert “Pappy” Waterman is a study of how to overcome the odds. It is about how ordinary people can make extra ordinary differences to their communities. This book chronicles a man’s journey through his early turmoil at school and at work. It showed how history shaped him and the decisions he made because of history. It showed him as a family man who stayed married for over 50 years. This book documents a man of integrity, whose principled stand in 1944, set in motion the creation of a new church. The book chronicles his heroic actions in directing the building of a place of worship for his congregants. He would go on to be Pastor of this church for 49 unbroken years. The book contains testimonies from some of those he pastored. What makes the book a compelling read is because the author was able to provide excellent historic and social context whilst exploring all aspects of his father’s life. You will not only enjoy this book, but at the end of it, you will be motivated to reach for your goals. Nigel Waterman holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration. He has a passion for history and genealogy. He has visited museums in Barbados, Britain, Canada and the USA. He has written a family tree of his ancestry. He plans to interview all family members and write a book on their stories for posterity.
