This book takes you through the process of building an actual boat that I named Fisher of Men. It correlates how building a boat is so much like our walk with Christ. The books inspiration was derived from going through a curriculum called Freedom and going to conferences. My hope is to challenge men to go all in with God and be the spiritual leader of their family. So many families today are either not being led at all or are having to be led by the mother. It is not her responsibility to be the spiritual leader of the family. However, in some families if she does not take that job, then the spiritual leader does not exist in their home. When the child leads only 5% of the family follows. When the mother leads only 22% of the family follows. However, when the man leads 93% of the family follows. This book will give you some of my stories that I pray will give you hope and inspire you to take the next step toward Jesus. The world teaches men that we need to be hard, strong and keep our problems and emotions to ourselves. However, Gods word tells us just the opposite. We are to be strong in the Lord, allow The Holy Spirit to soften our heart and find men to share our good, bad, and ugly situations with. These men can rejoice with us, pray with us, and help hold us accountable through our struggle’s. I have never met a man that has went all in with God that has any regret other than this one. They all say “I wish I would have done it sooner!” I can testify that Gods plan for my life is so much better than my plan. I sometimes think back at my life when I was in control at all the hurt, the failures and just simply mistakes that I led myself and my family into. I hope this book will open the eyes of your heart and give you the vision to see what God has in store for you. I am talking about the vision of God. The vision like God used Ananias to give to Saul. Remember the story of Saul who was killing Christians. He was on his way to Damascus when God blinded him with scales on his eyes. Then God spoke to Ananias telling him to go to a particular house on a particular street a find Saul. God said place your hands over his eyes and Saul will receive sight. God not only gave him vision again, God gave Saul a new name, Paul. See God used an obedient man to change the life of a sinner who then God used to change so many lives. Paul’s writings in the Bible are still being used to change lives today. So, are you a Saul, a Paul or are you someone’s Ananias? Through the process of building a boat my prayer is that The Holy Spirit speaks to you as you read the chapters as they break down in detail the boat components. I believe that multiple chapters in this book will challenge you. At the end of each chapter, I have written a few questions that I pray will allow you to see yourself in a new light. Hopefully you will begin to see a different man in the mirror. One of the best blessings in my personal life has been my family and personal friends saying that I am changed and different. If you knew the old me, you would understand why I love God like I do. God took a man who has broken every single commandment and saved him. He came and found me when I was at my worst. He loved me even though I had done so much wrong in my life. I want to tell you that if God can change me, He can change anyone. However, it does require us to take a step. Remember, Moses was just walking when he saw the burning bush. However, God did not call his name until Moses took a step toward the bush. God has big plans for your life. Plans to prosper and not harm you, but you must take a step like Moses did.
Men you will never take a bigger step in your life than the one that takes you toward God. That simple act of obedience will be the best move of your life. This world is just temporary. To many men today are trusting God with their life after death but are not going all in and trusting God with their life before death. There is so much MORE that God wants for us. His is not a fire insurance policy, He is the way of eternal life both THIS day and THAT day. This book is for all men of every walk of life, from the man who does not know God, to the new Christian and even to the man who has been doing religion and church for a lifetime. A relationship with Christ is what the book will encourage you to have. In my life I have referred to Jesus in many ways, my Savior, my Redeemer, my Comforter, my Provider, my Protector, my Father, and my favorite is my Friend. Do not be like me and waste so much of your life not living for God. Take a step into the MORE that God has in store for you.
