In our lifetime while sojourning upon this earth there will be a lot of ups and downs that we will go through, for that is how life is structured, you cannot get away from that. There will be some happy moments and some sorrowful ones also. That’s why, the late “Dr. Myles Monroe quoted, you must embrace failure, do not let it become your enemy but your friend.” We all have journeys that we must go through, and the victory in the process of the journey is dependent on us. God does not just take a promise and hand it to you, there’s always a journey connected to it. Joseph for instance, by the announcement of his dreams it provoked the heart of his siblings to the point that they wanted to kill him, but it was all a setup by God, for His plans, will and purpose to become a reality. So, God step in and cause the siblings to sell him to the Ishmaelites that was on their way to Egypt. The Shepherd of Israel guides Joseph like a sheep; and every believer is under the same guidance. Those that feed on God’s goodness must follow his direction; He leads us by his providence, by His word, by His Spirit, disposes of our affairs for the best, according to his counsel, disposes our affections and actions according to his command, directs our eye, our way, and our heart, into his love. God provides for his people not only food and rest, but refreshment also and pleasure. Joseph journey was not an easy one, for he was the preserver of life, so that God’s plan, will and purpose in forming a NATION will come to pass. Joseph’s destination was a glorious one and he endured the journey not seeing the end result but holding on to the dreams that he dreamt. From being sold as a slave to Potiphar’s, and then being accused wrongfully by Potiphar’s wife and being thrown into the pit, and then to his dreams and purposes’ becoming a reality in Pharoah’s kingdom. For he continued trusting in the God of his father and of his ancestors. We all have to go through an uncomfortable journey to reach where we desire to be or where God wants us to be, it’s not going to happen overnight. The journey is a must, it’s not magical for it to disappear, it is a sure process that we cannot escape from. Just like Joseph journey, most of our journeys are connected to (Jeremiah 1:5 AMP); “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you [and approved of you as My chosen instrument], and before you were born, I consecrated you [to Myself as My own]; I have appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” We have a higher calling and that’s why we need patience in order to endure the course of our journey. For if He just gave the promise to you when he spoke it, you would miss out on the education that can only happen through the process which is the journey. The journey is when you learn no weapon formed against you will prosper; I didn’t learn that because I arrived, I learned that on the journey. Because of the journey, my prayer life developed, and I learned that every tongue that rise up against me, I have the power to condemn it in Jesus Name. I learned how to persevere, how to be humble, how to truly trust God in spite of the boisterous winds that were blowing against me, my circumstances seems that it will never end, but I held on in spite of what my natural eyes were seeing. The journey was becoming difficult, but I remembered this one thing while I was in my darkest moment, that which the Lord told me while I was in the light, I held on to His promises, and I know that no situation is permanent as long I have faith in God. For He is not a man that he should lie, for victory is my through my endurance. Destination is only beautiful because of the journey it took to get there. That’s why people who are truly blessed of the Lord do not boast. But rather say, if it had not been for the Lord on my side, I don’t know where I would be. If you knew what it took for me to get too this position, the difficult journey I came through and should have lost my mind, but God kept me through it all. Then you would understand that it’s not by might nor by power but it’s by the Spirit of God that this happened. For He is the God of the valley and also the God of the mountain. It is your valley moments that makes you into the person you ought to be, do not despise it but learn from it, and after you have done all that you can, stand! Stand still and see the salvation of your God, for the giants that you see before you, you will see them no more, forever.

About the Author
Peter A. Hamilton was born in the twin islands of Trinidad and Tobago in the West Indies, in a small community called Liverpool Circular Temple Street Arima. He is the son of George and Jean Hamilton, who gave birth to four sons, and he is the youngest. George Hamilton passed away on May 9, 2017, and went home to be with the Lord. He had served the Lord for twenty-six years faithfully and left a good testimony. I thank God for my earthly dad and the time I spent with him. As a dad, he was truly an inspiration to me, especially when he didn’t have all that money could afford, but he was a genuine individual. I loved him with my whole heart, and one day I will rejoice with him in the presence of our King. But for now, I must run my course faithfully and finish the work that was entrusted to me by my Heavenly Father. As a young man, while living in sin and ignorance, this one thing that I would say to myself—and even to a friend named Phillip La Croix—was “There is more to life than that which we are doing.” I realized that there is purpose for being alive even while in my ignorance. So to understand purpose and kingdom, I concluded that I had to come back to the one who is responsible for me, and it wasn’t my parents but God. I needed to go back to the garden where it all began. It was in the garden that purpose was created and the kingdom was given to man. God created man to have dominion over His creation, not over each other. That statement I made in the above paragraph has propelled me to make the most important decision I have ever made and will ever make in my entire life! I decided to stop running and surrender all to Jesus Christ of Nazareth. At the age of twenty-three, I gave my life to Jesus Christ and have never looked back, despite all the difficulties, hardships, trials, living in lack as a Christian, temptations, and persecutions I’ve been through. God’s mercy and His love have kept me through it all. To my Heavenly Father, I just want to say thank You for saving me and for Your Son, Jesus Christ, and His shed blood. I thank Your Holy Spirit teaching and guiding me into all truth and enabling me to write this book, which shall become a bestseller. I’ve been happily married to my wife, Paula, for the past thirty-two years, and she’s not only my wife but also my lover, my best friend, and my king! Jesus is King of kings, and together we are the proud parents of four handsome sons: Peter A., Paul A., Phillip A., and Pharez A. Hamilton. And we are grandparents of four: Phillip Jr., Rociaa (the first princess in the family), Philine, and Invioaa (better known as Army).
