I Dreamed That Jesus Came Back
Revelation 20:6
Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years.
Last night, I dreamed that Jesus came back, in fact, this is still “last night” because I got up to write it before I forgot any of it. Miraculously, I am sitting here typing without my glasses, because I forgot them and I don’t even want to get up and get them so I don’t lose my train of thought. This is not a dream about the Rapture (I had one of those about 40+ years ago). This is about what happens after the literal Second Coming of Christ, during the Thousand Year Reign.
All I can tell you is, we were in our immortal bodies. We couldn’t be killed, and we had nothing to fear, ever again. Jesus had just gotten here and had begun His reign on the earth. In this dream, I remember being able to communicate with people who were hundreds of miles away without a phone or anything electronic. The dream actually began with an old pastor friend of mine and I having a conversation. We weren’t talking on our phones. We were actually high in the atmosphere talking face to face. When we finished, he returned to North Dakota (where he was born-again in his previous life) and I returned to my location on the earth. We were the glorified Saints, who were already working with Jesus and we were establishing everything and putting everything and everyone in order under Jesus’ reign. The wonderful thing was, just as you would imagine, Jesus was right there in the mix of things, walking around with His people. He wasn’t in some distant office or on a throne far away. He looked like many of the pictures I have seen of Him, but not exactly like any of them. He was walking right there among us. I remember wishing that I could have just a moment of one-on-one time with Him, but I thought He would be too busy. Even though He was thronged by so many joyful people, when I walked by Him, He looked at me and smiled and came up and hugged me, as I did Him, and we held each other, and I wept. Right then, I knew that I was on His mind and I was a part of it all. I also knew that Jesus knew my every thought and loved me intensely and the same was true for all the people who were around Him and all the rest of the people in the world.
Then I woke up. Ever since I had that dream, my perception of everything has changed. When I pray, I can recall that look on Jesus’ face and the way He was grinning. I know He hears every prayer. I know He knows every thought. I know that He is in control and He loves me. I also know that we have a future in store, soon, that will be exceedingly, abundantly, above all that we can imagine (Eph.3:20).

About the Book
Bob began typing ideas and presenting them as blogs or devotionals on Facebook around 2020. For several years, he would post Scriptures by themselves as a means of encouraging other people to draw near to Jesus. During his prayer walks in the morning, time reading the Word, and sometimes, just pondering things about the Lord, he would receive a sudden inspiration that he would start writing down. If he immediately started typing it, it would just begin to flow. If he procrastinated, he would lose it and not be able to remember it again. Thus, he nicknamed it, “Divine Downloads”. This book is not the traditional daily devotional with a date beside the message for the day. Instead, it is written with the idea of starting with prayer, then flipping through the book until you stop or put your finger on a page. Hopefully, the page will speak directly to you and give you encouragement for that day. You may choose to read it the traditional way, one devotional at a time, in order. That’s ok too; just maybe, not as much fun. Feel free to write notes about inspirations or “downloads” that you may have had while reading the devotion of the day. This book is designed to be written in, digested, re-read, and experienced; not just read. Another note, after using this “faith reading” method, try using it with the Bible. Ask God to apply His Word directly to your life and watch it change.
About the Author
Bob Herndon is a former teacher, pastor of several churches, and founding pastor, starting a new church. He is also the founder of the Christian drama ministry in the 80’s and 90’s called The Living Parables who traveled and ministered all over the U.S. as well as Jamaica and Mexico. He is now serving as Teaching Pastor at Salem Community Church in Clarksville, Tennessee. He wrote the play, Five Miles, Uphill, Both Ways, and the book, What Does Jesus Hate? (The Deeds of the Nicolaitans- Rev. 2). Bob became a believer when he was 15, during the “Jesus Movement” in 1971 and has been actively serving Jesus since then. Now, he is continuing to write blogs and devotionals that are published on his Living Water page on Facebook and is exploring other writing projects.
