Satan used persuasive words to deceive Eve. This deception affected Adam’s decision to eat the fruit of the tree. Paul to the Colossians warns us against the deception of persuasive words . Satan used persuasive words for Eve’s corruption in the garden, and he uses the same technique repeatedly upon us today. First, Satan’s uses isolation to separate people from their healthy support. This gets people from the foundation of scripture, their supportive staff, as well as healthy peers, and creates doubt in the safety and security of their faith. Eve was the first prey exposed to Satan’s forge of persuasion, isolating her from God and Adam. We can see this in the reeducation of Eve by Lucifer’s words of seduction. This seduction happens when Satan confronts her with the issue of the eating of all the trees of the garden . Her compliant response to this serpent of old in acknowledgement of the knowledge retained by her was to “not eat, nor shall you touch it, lest you die ." Adam charged with the tending and caring for the garden, which now has included Eve. However, Eve expresses an already misleading condition of her understanding in this statement. For she having added the condition of “nor shall you touch it” toward the command given to Adam by Christ does misrepresent the command by Christ. Satan begins the injection of his manifesto against God through his craftiness of words to deceive her, by using her own misrepresentations of God’s command. Now, Satan uses this concept of misrepresentation toward us about the value of God’s word to us, our actions toward him, and the faith required for salvation.
