JANUARY 2 BREAKFAST WITH JESUS Matthew 6:33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. How do you start your day? A shower! Hurry to work! Stuck on the highway! Mornings are often full of anxiety and stress. Before the day beginnings, it’s already a mess. What if you wake up earlier, in peace and calm. A cup of coffee, a pastry, reading a psalm. Breakfast with Jesus starts the day off right. A new day guided by His marvelous light. Spiritual benefits, you and others shall reap. Follows all the day long, ‘til you go home to sleep. When the day begins with prayer and His word, Inspiration from breakfast with Jesus will be heard. JANUARY 14 JUST LOOK AROUND Psalm 8:3-4 When I consider your heavens, the work of Your fingers, The moon and the stars, which You have ordained, What is man that You are mindful of him, And the son of man that You visit him? They say there’s a God, but where is He found? He is everywhere my friend, just look around. He’s seen in the heavens, that didn’t just appear. His presence is apparent from the life we live here. The sun is dependable, the moon works its path. Though we bask in our glory, God authored science and math. The animals have instinct He programmed their ways. Plants have a cycle, as they live out their days. From the water we drink to the air we breathe, It all comes from God. You better believe. They say there’s a God, but where is He found? He is everywhere my friend, just look around. JANUARY 24 LASTING PEACE Isaiah 2:4 They shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; Nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore. We live in a world of unending war. Misery and sadness are what’s in store. We think the next one will be the last. But such hope diminishes so fast. Solutions we seek by works of our own. In vain do we seek peace all alone. We need God to show us the way. Only then we will have peace that will stay. God will show us how much He cares, When we finally beat our swords into plowshares. JANUARY 29 NEVER STOP TRYING Revelation 21:4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away. So many things stand in our way. So many things lead us astray. It makes a soul want to quit. It makes a soul feel unfit. But, no need to worry when we fall. Our loving God knows life’s long haul. He has ways to stop our crying, Make sure you never stop trying. With God, persistence is no task, As long as we continually ask. Help with trying is found in prayer. You will see that Lord deeply cares. JANUARY 31 WHAT DID JESUS SAY? John 18:37 You say rightly that I am a king. For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice. Jesus said, “It is more blessed to give than receive.” In this you may believe. Jesus said, “Man does not live by bread alone.” His desire is to make His Word known. Jesus said, “Repent, for the kingdom of God is at hand.” He came to make known God’s plan for man. Jesus said, “Blessed are the pure in heart.” This is where He wants us to start. Jesus said, “Love your neighbor as yourself for it is right.” When you do, the Lord will take delight. Jesus said, “Judge not, that you be not judged.” It is not a good thing to carry a grudge. Jesus said, “He who believes and is baptized will be saved.” In this way, your road to heaven will be paved. Jesus said, “No one comes to the Father except through Me.” If you abide in this, you are truly free.
