Early Life Pearl Coke, known to some as Likkle (Little, for her short stature), Wicked by her dear friend Brother Armstrong, or Mother Backless daughter, by the Jamaican civilians, was born on March 23, 1932. Pearl was born to two loving parents: Mrs. Emma Coke and Mr. Obadiah Coke, in Tyre, a small district in the parish of Trelawny, Jamaica, West Indies.

About the Book
The book’s purpose is to record the legacy of Pearl Coke, the matriarch of eleven children and thirty-three grandchildren and counting. Her trials and tribulations left a hallmark trial for her descendants and the lives of countless people she has encountered. Pearl Coke, a fighter indeed, has ingrained a principle of family, spirituality, community, and tenacity into the lives of many individuals. It would only be appropriate to leave evidence of such a journey in writing.
About the Author
Credentials: Family Nurse Practitioner- Board Certified, RN, BSN, MSN Tanya Thomas, the author, is one Of Pearl Cokes’ thirty-three grandchildren. Tanya was born in St. Andrew Jamaica West Indies and migrated to the USA with her mother Blossom. Ms. Thomas lives in New York and works as a board-certified Nurse Practitioner. As an adult, Tanya remembers the hardship her mother, grandmother, and aunts endured to create a better life for the current family. It is only appropriate to document the family journey, to ensure the remembrance of family sacrifice and preservation to serve as a record of the family roots.
