Five-year-old Lucy was a smart little girl who loved to show people all of the wonderful things she was learning to do...
like somersaults, tea parties with dolls, and tying the laces of her white patent leather Sunday shoes with no help from her Mom.
She could climb a tree, hang upside-down in its branches, and whistle "bobwhite" like a for-real bird.
She could sing her ABCs backward, stand on one foot longer than her brother, and eat a whole entire grapefruit without drinking any water.
She could stack dominoes on a pillow, hopscotch in her sister's high heels, and squeeze her Daddy's hand so hard he cried, "Uncle!"
She was talented.
"Look at me!" She squealed. "Look at me!"
And everyone did.
It was so much fun showing people all the terrific things Lucy was learning to do.
They would say, "Wow! That is terrific!" "You totally rock!" "What a smart young lady." "And pretty, too!"
Words of praise made Lucy feel so good inside.
She always, always wanted to hear those words.
Her Mama would say, "Look at you, Lucy! Look at you!"
By the time Lucy started Kindergarten, her Mom's cell phone was loaded with look-at-me pictures of Lucy.
You would think she was the only child in the family--the only little girl in the universe.

About the Book
Is a colorfully illustrated story of a five-year-old girl who enjoys showing family and friends all the wonderful things she is learning to do. When it is time to start dance lessons, however, she discovers friendship is better than stardom. Her mother uses the small but wide rearview mirror in their car and several verses from Proverbs to teach a valuable lesson about humility and true beauty.

About the Author
Karen Anderson Holcomb has a Master of Arts in Communication from Southwestern Seminary (Ft. Worth, TX), with undergraduate degrees in Theatre and Journalism. Look-at-Me Lucy is the third book in her Proverbial Kids series, following Little Jimmy and the Spoiled Rotten Banana and Captain Curious and the Invisible Boundary Line. A former children’s minister, Karen and her husband Bron have two teenaged sons and live in Canton, NC.
