I was raised in a large family. I am the middle one. We went to church sometimes 3 times a week. I heard lots of condemnation and fear preached. Afraid of God; I studied His word and found that God loved me, He loved me just the way I was. I was made in His image. I was His child. As I searched God’s word, I found peace, and fear had to leave. In the place of fear, trust and confidence led me to the truth that God truly is a loving Father who wants only what is best for His children.
As I prayed and read Gods word, He began to talk to me. I wrote down my prayers and then I began to write down words from God. Comforting words. As fast as I could write, the words flowed out of me. My Father was talking to me and opening His word to me. I was perplexed at first, then I remembered the scripture where He said: “If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living waters” (John 37-38). We are the temple of a living Savior. God talks to us to lead and to guide us and lead us into peace. Many poems flowed out of me. I did not even have to think of what I was going to say. The words were there. It is so peaceful and calming when God speaks to us. We know it is truth for His words lift and gives peace.
I learned to listen after I pray; for God can give us wisdom if we wait upon Him, with a listening ear. Sometimes we are not still enough to be tuned in. Many times, God speaks to me through Gospel songs. Sometimes I will hum a certain song for several days and I find that is exactly the words I needed to see me through a conflict I was having.
As we praise God through the songs, He gives peace to our hearts and minds. He wants to walk and talk with us the way he walked and talked with Adam and Eve in the garden. He wants more than anything else for us to be at peace. I have enclosed several poems, essays and short verses telling of how God speaks to His children. I have learned He wants us to be at peace and have a good life more than we want it for ourselves. We can know His voice. It always brings truth and uplifting to our spirit. We can easily know it is His voice because there is never any condemnation only peace and comfort. It we cannot understand the first time He tells us some truth. Take hope He will continue to tell us of His truth until we understand. His words are the most important area of our life. For His words are always truth and will comfort us.
If you cannot believe; ask God to help your unbelief and it will be replaced with faith.
I wrote about how anxiety can destroy our life. I was a bookkeeper at a Mental Health center for nineteen years. I answered the phone at lunch time when the counselors were at lunch. One lunch time I got a call from a veteran who needed help desperately and wanted to talk to someone. I asked him if there was anything I could do since all the counselors were at lunch. He began to tell about his life was destroyed since he come home after the war. Since anxiety and depression was destroying his life, he had lost his wife and children and He was very distraught. He began to tell how he had killed and did things he could not forgive himself of, while serving in the war. He did not think he deserved to be forgiven. He could not sleep or rest. I shared with Him that there was not anything that God would not forgive. He just needed to ask for forgiveness and believe God would understand his turmoil and would forgive him of anything. He had only done what He was expected to do while in the service, it was not his fault. We hung up the phone. That afternoon a counselor told me there was a call form a gentleman that wanted her to thank that women that talked to him at noon that since the load had been lifted he thought he might have a second chance in life,. He was going to talk to his wife and believed to get his family back together.
That proves God’s words are alive. They do not return void. They do what they were sent to do.
His spirit realized the words were from God and he believed and is being delivered. I only shared with him what I knew God could do.
God’s words are the same as God. It is so important that we get His Words written upon our heart and mind for they are our lifeline.
They are truly our lifeline.
We cannot live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. That is what this book is about. God’s words. How His words will lead us and guide us and keep us in peace. God’s words are not a myth. They are alive and speak to our spirit.
Have you ever had someone praise you for something you had done for them and they were grateful? You probably have never forgotten that. Then have you had someone say something to you that really hurt. How long did your spirit suffer from those hurtful words? Words are truly alive; they do not die. Jesus said His words will not pass away. We can stand on His word. We may have to stand and declare it and wait, but it will never fail. There are powers and principalities warring against us. God has the upper hand and His words are above all words. There is no power above God’s power.
