The Best Guess

Mankind desires to move upward against nature and gravity. But nature and gravity have always forced us back down to the ground, doomed to scratch our heads in perplexity. We can move upward in one of two ways. Either we will force ourselves upward in rocket ships or we will be given a hand up when we recognize the benefits of humility. The Tower of Babel, while true, is a potent metaphor for the current debate that situates itself in the void of space. The search for answers must work its way from the ground up. It cannot start from the tyranny of the stars. The Bible provides us with a starting point—in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. One cannot know the nature of infinity and beyond until he/she understands what resides within themselves—namely an infinite tendency for evil beyond what we’re willing to admit. If we know we are lowly, made from the dust of the earth, we may seek to know the one who made us. Otherwise we will always be searching for the way in which nothing piled us up from nothing, eventually turning us into animate mud castles of chaotic space-time. The nothing theory could cause those made from the dust of the stars to simultaneously contemplate their own divinity and meaninglessness.
