Garrison the Garbage Truck

Good morning, Garrison!
Time to wake up.
It's a big day for the little garbage truck.
Today is Monday.
His first day of school!
Garrison is excited.
“This is going to be cool!”

A breakfast of toast, eggs, and cereal.
Garrison eats it all up and feels a bit full.
Brush Garrison’s teeth and comb his crazy hair,
Grab Garrison’s backpack off his favorite striped chair.

“What will I do?
Are there new friends to meet?”
Garrison starts to feel nervous
As they drive down the street.
He slows to a stop, looking a little sad.
He wants to stay home with his Mama and Dad.

“It’s okay to feel scared. This adventure is new.
Take some deep breaths. You know what to do.”
Breathe in courage and strength. Breathe out fear and worry.
Breathe in kindness and love. Garrison is calm in a hurry.

Now feeling better
Garrison rushes to his class.
Looking forward to the day
Hoping to dig in dirty, smelly trash.
