The Imposter
If lies are truths and truths are lies,
What does the difference make?
Does it concern you that confusion
May put your life at stake?
Truth never claims to be a lie.
But a lie will claim it’s true.
If the lie had real integrity,
It would fess up to you.
The lie will masquerade as true
Your person to deceive.
If often he repeats the lie
He thinks you may believe.
The imposter comes as truth disguised.
He doesn’t want you to think.
Just listen to his rhetoric
And you he will hoodwink.
But if you want to know the truth
And preserve your liberty,
Seek the facts, reject the lie.
The truth will make you free.
God placed in you a critical mind.
And He wants you to think.
But if you ignore common sense,
You’ll find yourself hoodwinked.
Man and God
When God says no and man says yes,
Whose voice will ring supreme?
Can men pass laws that have domain
And His will contravene?
Suppose I say that up is down
And down is up by law.
Do you think that gravity
Somehow comes in tow?
If God decrees that it is wrong
To take a human life,
What makes us think we can by law
Decree it otherwise?
Somehow, we think by calling it
Our constitutional right
We nullify the evil thing
That we have placed in sight.
But up is up and down is down.
It’s likely not to change.
And God is God and He’s supreme.
He too will stay the same.
