Read: Job 1 Verse 21: He said, “I came naked from my mother's womb, and I will be naked when I leave. The Lord gave me what I had, and the Lord has taken it away. Praise the name of the Lord!” Reflection: God allows tests into our lives to reveal to us the strong and weak areas of our faith. God already knows how we will respond, so testing is not for his benefit, it's for ours. Job was described by God himself as being the finest man in all the earth, but God allowed Satan to test him. We can be walking in the center of God's will, doing everything right, and still be tested. However, nothing can come our way without God's approval. Even Satan must ask God for permission to test us within the boundaries set by God. Job lost all his animals, farm hands, shepherds, servants, sons, and daughters—on the same day. But Job did not sin by blaming God. Job’s response to God is a model of strong faith. We may not always understand our circumstances, but God is always worthy of our worship—even in the midst of suffering.
