Sharing a Gift
I’ve written these poems to give a lift.
A way of sharing my spiritual gift.
A talent not wasted. A talent confirmed.
One filled with riches of all that I’ve learned.
From a God who’s all knowing, so loving and true.
I’ve written these poems in hope to reach you.
When you’re searching for truth and want nothing less.
May the poems I have written keep you humble and blessed.
Broken Chains
Nothing makes my life complete
Except for Christ alone
His blessings are so pure and sweet
I’ve made my heart His home
I stand in awe and so amazed at all that He has done
He saved my soul
That was His goal
Now victory is won
He broke the chains
He set me free
A sinner such as I
No longer in captivity
I’m now made free to fly.
I Am Always With You
Father you keep listening every time I pray
Will there ever come a time when You just turn away?
No my precious child, that’s what my ears are for
You are my creation, I couldn’t love you more
Never will I let you walk this road alone
Nor will I forget you and leave you on your own
Know that I am with you so you need not fear
No matter where you venture, I am always near
To shelter, hold and keep you secure in My love
To not let life defeat you, but to help you rise above
This momentary darkness, these momentary pains,
These momentary pressures and these temporary gains
With Me by your side life is fresh and new
When you are tired of walking
Then I will carry you
Father You are awesome, merciful, and true
Desiring the best for us as all good fathers do.
Work in Me Lord
Help me gracious Father
Show me what to do
Take my heart and make it Yours
Till all I want is You
When You’re working in me
Help me not to fight
Take away all doubt and fear
Help me do what’s right
Lead me through the darkness
Hear me when I pray
Keep me Lord so close to You
Till I can’t get away
When I am weak You are strong
I know You’ll get me through it
Now give me Lord the faith I need
To trust and let You do it.
Busy Lizzy
Busy Lizzy, put down your towel
Enough cleaning for a while
A mother’s work is never done
So let’s go out and have some fun
Oops! There goes the butter
If it’s not one thing it’s another
First I must bring in the rugs
If not my kids will give them hugs
As always they’ll fall in the dirt
Which adds on to my daily work
Busy Lizzy will you hurry?
I’ll be there don’t you worry
Just let me put their bikes away
Their trucks, cars and messy clay
Let it stay till you get back
But then I won’t have time for that
With homework checks and mouths to feed
Tic- tac- toe and books to read
Busy Lizzy we must go
Okay yes, I know! I know!
Oops, too late my kids are home
Call me on the telephone
Busy Lizzy enough said
Call me when you’ve cleared your head
